Capalaba is a suburb in Redland with a population of 18,254 as of the 2021 census. It was known as Tingalpa up until 1927, with early settlers setting up a local school which became Capalaba State School in 1980.

Capalaba has now evolved into a developed, urban area featuring large shopping centres and residential areas, as well as an industrial zone. Apart from Capalaba State School, the suburb has other educational institutions such as Coolwynpin State School and St Luke’s Catholic Parish School.

The Capalaba bus station connects residents to the city, and there are continued plans for development with the extension of the Eastern Busway.
